Questions and answers

Frequently asked questions

Can you collect from Antwerp city and the port area?

Yes. We collect passengers travelling with dogs or cats from Antwerp city centre, the port district, Berchem, Borgerhout, Wilrijk and surrounding areas. We also cover the wider Antwerp province and can arrange pickups from Mechelen, Turnhout and other nearby towns on request.

How close is Antwerp to the Eurotunnel terminal?

Antwerp to Calais/Coquelles is approximately 180–200 km via the E17 and A16 motorways. This makes Antwerp one of the closest major cities to the Eurotunnel terminal outside France itself - the drive from Antwerp to the terminal typically takes around 1.5–2 hours, depending on traffic around Ghent.

How long does the Antwerp to London journey take with a dog or cat?

Antwerp to Calais is approximately 180–200 km - around 1.5–2 hours of driving. Adding the 35-minute Eurotunnel crossing and the onward journey in the UK, Antwerp to London typically takes 4–5 hours in total, making it one of the shortest overland continental-to-UK journeys we offer.

Does my pet need special documents travelling from Belgium to the UK?

Belgium is an EU member state and the standard EU-to-UK pet travel rules apply. Dogs and cats need a valid ISO microchip, current rabies vaccination and an Animal Health Certificate issued within 10 days of travel. Dogs also need a tapeworm treatment from a vet 24–120 hours before arriving at the UK border. Cats do not normally require tapeworm treatment.

Can cats travel from Antwerp to the UK?

Yes. Passengers can travel from Antwerp to the UK with a cat. Cats need a microchip, current rabies vaccination and AHC. They do not need tapeworm treatment. The short Antwerp to London journey time makes this a particularly comfortable option for cats, compared to longer southern France or German departures.

Do you also cover Ghent, Brussels and other Belgian cities from Antwerp?

Ghent is approximately 60 km from Antwerp and is within collection range by arrangement. Brussels is also around 45 km south. We already have a dedicated service page for Brussels Airport. For other Belgian cities, get in touch with your pickup address and we will confirm coverage and pricing.
