Travelling with Pets on LeShuttle
Answers to common booking and onboard questions about dogs, cats, ferrets, rabbits and other pets travelling with you on LeShuttle.
Dogs, cats and ferrets
LeShuttle’s current support guidance lists a limit of five dogs, cats or ferrets per vehicle. Commercial transport, assistance animals and non-standard movements may have separate requirements; contact the operator if your journey falls outside a standard private trip.
LeShuttle advises that owners remain responsible for their dogs throughout. If your dog normally wears a muzzle, the operator advises continuing to use it.
Adding a pet to your booking
LeShuttle says pets can be added to an existing booking before travel. Its support page explains that guest bookings can be managed online using the password in the booking confirmation, and account bookings can be changed after signing in. Check the operator’s current instructions and any applicable charges.
Do not leave pet booking arrangements until the terminal unless the operator has confirmed that this is suitable for your trip.
Rabbits and other species
LeShuttle has separate guidance for rabbits. It says a vet-completed Veterinary Certificate is required and should be carried in both directions; a new certificate is needed for each round trip. Ask your vet to confirm the current certificate and checks for your route.
LeShuttle’s guidance also treats some other small species differently from dogs, cats and ferrets. Check the operator’s exact rules for your animal rather than assuming the five-pet limit or document rules apply in the same way.
Assistance dogs and horses
Assistance dogs and horses have separate operator procedures and eligibility requirements. A dog’s assistance status does not remove the normal health and travel-document requirements. Horses need an appropriate transporter and specific transport documentation.
Contact LeShuttle before booking and use its dedicated guidance to confirm the evidence, vehicle and booking arrangements for your trip.
During the crossing
LeShuttle says pets stay with you in your vehicle during the crossing. Follow the crew’s boarding instructions and keep your pet safely restrained. Use terminal exercise areas before boarding if your pet needs a break.
